I received an AAS degree in 2000 from the Fashion Institute of Technology in Display & Exhibit Design in Manhattan, NY. A few years later, I returned to school and received a BFA in Graphic Design from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro. My college years were all about exploring art (mostly photography) and design. Prior to that, I spent several years working in 1-hour photo labs and as a retail & corporate level visual merchandiser. I have also worked in the publishing field as a graphic designer and photo stylist.
Combining 14 years as a brand identity/graphic designer and 25 years as a visual merchandiser, I am well versed in strategic thinking, best design practices, visual aesthetic/display design, and the ability to look at the bigger picture, resulting in an effective brand experience. My love for both fields often overlaps allowing me to pursue both avenues as opportunities arise. Having experience in both fields allows for a broader view and varying perspectives no matter what type of project I am working on.
While still pursuing brand identity design and visual merchandising roles, I have also taken my leather goods business to a new level pursuing the wholesale and e-commerce avenues. Keeping all of these creative fields in my wheelhouse allows me to continue to grow as an artist and designer. You can read more about my business, Bernice London, here.
